So Many Links - So Little Time

With the large array of websites available it can be extremely difficult to sift through them all to find appropriate sites for elementary students. Therefore, I have complied a list of my 10 favorite educational websites that I use in my classroom. Please feel free to explore the resources I have provided below. 

ABCya

ABCya

ABCya.com is a free game based website for children in grades preschool through 5th. Within each grade level the site categorizes games into letters, numbers, holiday, strategy, and skills. * Available in App Store: Free or $0.99+ * Not available in Google Play

BrainPop Jr.

Jr.BrainPop.com is an engaging website that provides short clips, quizzes, and games for students in grades kindergarten through 3rd. The site isn't organized by grade level, but rather subject area (e.g. science). BrainPop.com is a great website that provides short clips, quizzes, and games for students in grades 3rd through 8th. The site isn't organized by grade level, but rather subject area (e.g. math). Code.org

Code.org

Code.org is an amazing website and curriculum that provides elementary students the opportunity to explore the world of commuting. Accounts are required, but free! You will be able to monitor your students progress and it automatically saves for them too. * Not available in App Store * Not available in Google Play

Digital Passport

Digital Passport

DigitalPassport.org is a unique web based tool for students to learn about digital citizenship through short clips, activities, and games. This site is created by Common Sense Media and is a supplement to their curriculum for students in grades 3rd through 5th. You are required to make an account for you and your students. * Available in App Store: $1.99+ * Available in Google Play: $2.99+

DanceMat Typing

DanceMat Typing

DanceMat (BBC.in/1liunzx) provides a fun way to learn how to touch type for students in grades 3rd through 6th. Complete levels that focus on certain areas of the keyboard, paired with music and engaging characters this website is a most play for all beginner typists. * Not available in App Store * Not available in Google Play

Growing with Technology

Growing with Technology

Growing.Course.com is a free site to introduce basic technology terminology and keyboarding skills for students in grades kindergarten through 5th. Thomson organizes their site and textbooks based on 5 levels. Some of the terms are outdated, but this allows for history of technology to be integrated as well. * Not available in App Store * Not available in Google Play

Professor Garfield

Professor Garfield

ProfessorGarfield.org is an award winning website that provides students with ad-free access to educational games and activities. The site is free to access the basic version and a paid subscription is required in order to access the majority of the Infinite Learning Lab content. One free activity is about CyberBullying. * Available on App Store: Free (comics only) * Not available on Google Play

PBS Kids

PBS Kids

PBSkids.org is a website where students can play games and watch videos of their favorite cartoon characters from the PBS network. Students are able to work on their mouse skills and there are subject related games available. * Available on App Store: Free per game * Available on Google Play: Free per game

Typing Club

Typing Club

TypingClub.com provides free typing lessons to improve speed and accuracy. Teacher portals are available in order to monitor student progress, create levels and assessments. This site engages students to type faster with 100 pre-made levels. *Not available in App Store *Not available in Google Play
